Active Mineral – Clay and 10 % Calcium Chloride = MD
Silica Gel - Silica Gel is a glass-like, porous structure of SiO2 = SD
The major difference between the two absorbents (Mineral Desiccants & Clay Desiccants) is that Active Mineral has higher absorption characteristics due to the presence of Calcium Chloride. On the other hand Montmorillonite desiccant bags are Military Spec (MIL-D-3464) compliant due to the lack of causticity material.
